چکیده

Based on a modifled Bernoulli-Gaussian model, we propose an adaptive maximum-likelihood channel equalizer, which is a block signal processing algorithm, for the detection of binary sequences transmitted through an unknown slowly time-varying channel. Both computational load and storage required by the proposed adaptive channel equalizer are linearly rather than exponentially proportional to the size of signal processing block. A simulation example is provided to support that it can simultaneously track the variation of slowly time-varying channels and detect unknown binary sequences well.

Adaptive Signal Detection in Auto-Regressive Interference with Gaussian Spectrum

A detector for the case of a radar target with known Doppler and unknown complex amplitude in complex Gaussian noise with unknown parameters has been derived. The detector assumes that the noise is an Auto-Regressive (AR) process with Gaussian autocorrelation function which is a suitable model for ground clutter in most scenarios involving airborne radars. The detector estimates the unknown...

Performance Analysis of Color Image Transmission over Rayleigh Fading Channel in an Outdoor Environment

In this paper we investigate the impact of different equalization techniques for digital communication systems that employ MPSK and MQAM modulation technique to transmit information such as color image over Rayleigh fading AWGN channel. Performance is analyzed in terms of bit error rate by MATLAB simulation. For the simulation of Rayleigh fading channel the different property values such as pat...

Split Mlse Adaptive Equalization in Severely Faded Rayleigh Mimo Channels

This paper presents an overview of adaptive equalization used in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems. In this paper, we consider two-user transmission over a Rayleigh frequency selective fading channel, in which the Channel State Information (CSI) is known by the receiver. Subject to an average transmit power constraint, we study the performance with Rayleigh fading. Besides ...

Performance and Implementation of Adaptive Partial Response Maximum Likelihood Detection

Motivated by previous comparison work, a configuration for partial response maximum likelihood detection using the Viterbi algorithm (PRML/VA) detectors with adaptive target polynomials is examined. In this configuration, a mean-quared error decision feedback equalization (MSE-DFE) is used to adapt both the forward equalizer and the target channel for the Viterbi detector. The performance of th...

An Effective Non Linear Receiver for High Density Optical Disc

This paper presents an innovative Non-Linear Receiver (NLR) for the high density optical channel. This receiver is based on the combination of Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation (MLSE) and nonlinear Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) cancellation. For the nonlinear channel description a suitable model based on the Volterra series has been adopted. Simulation results show that the proposed NLR ...
